I saw this on an independent taxi this morning:

Of course it only works if the passengers look in it before opening the door, but at least it shows that the cab's owner is taking the problem seriously.

Now if only the cops...

Something I learned after being doored by a cab passenger is that the cab company is liable for dooring incidents, not passengers. As much as I'd like to think this is done out of concern for bikers...more likely it was done out of concern for the bottom line. Either way, I'll take it.

Most devices that potentially lead to safer . . . anything are done out of concern for the bottom line.  It is a good thing!
