He remained silent until he was almost to the other side of the street.  Really odd.  He mumbled something, but I didn't stick around to figure out what it was.

I yelled out "Jesus Christ!  Are you kidding me?!" right before I hit him.  If he heard me over his headphones, I think I got my point across.

I had to yell out three times this morning at idiots standing in the Dearborn bike lane at a red light.

Clarification: I had the green light, the idiots standing in the bike lane had the red.

Wow--the flowers are really spectacular!

Got a flat on my ride home, so I took the bike to Cycle Smithy. They returned my bike with the brakes disengaged! WTF? Good thing I always check my bike over after getting work done!

Air horns work wonders :)

I have seriously considered zip-tying one to my handlebars…

My air horn is in a bottle cage.

I use an Air Zound.  It's a marine air horn, charged by a plastic air flask you fill with any bike pump.  The button mounts easily on handlebars.  It's a serious attention-getter, for about 30 bucks.

Haha! Ive seen a ton of these folks over the last two weeks. I think you should ride up to them, pat them on the back and say, "Want to know how I know this is your first ride of the season?" Then obviously thank them for riding and welcome them to the party.

Beautiful ride today. If you are experienced enough, drafting an 18 wheeler is a great way to beat a headwind!

This morning I saw a gentleman riding northbound on Lasalle wearing a balaclava, corduroy pants, and a rain jacket.  If you're out there, Human Hot Dog, I hope there's some lighter clothing in those panniers for the ride home this afternoon :) - I heard a rumor that Chicago might have finally figured out it's summer.

Sort of.   Got one mile from home and heard  strange sound.  Sidewall at rim had given way (although intertube had NOT given way).    Had to ride home (slowly and carefully) and swap out the wheel.   So I added some extra time and mileage in the area of the city that's not all that fun to ride in... and the headwinds seemed to be pretty bad...

One thing you can do as a quick road fix for that (if the failed area of the tire isn't too big) is to slip a dollar bill between the tube and the inner surface of the tire.
