Submerged Bicycle?

My Schwinn Suburban was left inside a garage at work on Wednesday, and was caught up in floodwaters. The mud shows it was over the axles, possibly for several hours. Anything to be especially concerned about? This is the bike that I was already thinking about replace the wheels on it.

Good tip, I have some around for kitchen knives, will use that on the next annual overhaul...

Make sure you use "boiled" linseed oil rather than the raw stuff as it takes forever and a day to dry. It'll work but the boiled stuff dries in a reasonable time period. Frame saver is much faster though, and less messy.

Just make sure you clean any rags or other material that gets soaked with the oil fairly quickly afterwards. Linseed oil tends to oxidize quickly and releases heat in the process so a pile of rags or other material with linseed oil in it can spontaneously ignite.
