Nice ride in for me, too.  Are we turning a corner?

I saw the "most beautiful day" thread before leaving and decided to ride with only short sleeves, no gloves or jacket.

Mistake.

Wind has shifted so it is blowing the cold air in off the lake and the clouds are rolling in, but there are three people working on the rooftop garden on City Hall, so maybe we are turning a corner.  I think they might be cyclists--they are wearing yellow safety vests while out working on the roof. ;-)

Aw shoot! I earned a tailwind this morning, commuting to O'Hare :).  And yes, definitely turning a corner; started commuting by recumbent this week.

Bizarrely or goofy looking enough - I've been donning the short sleeve shirt, vest, shirts, and mittens. My body says yes! Turned that corner! My fingers cry for mercy.

I always wonder if it is better to ride my bike (with helmet) in a thunderstorm or to walk from the subway to home (with umbrella that blows open the wrong way and no helmet).

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for northern Cook, southern Lake, northern Dupage, Southeastern Mchenry and Kane counties until 12:15 pm CDT. At 11:29 am CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of Elgin, and moving northeast at 40 mph. Hazard, quarter size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

don't know. I really don't like umbrellas.

I left the bike downtown monday evening due to the weather forecast; but the weather turned out to be not so bad. today the weather looks worse (it is very dark downtown and thundering) but am seriously considering riding home in it. call me crazy.

anyone want to join me ??? (misery loves company).

I will be leaving the west loop (Clinton / Washington) around 4:45 pm  riding to East Garfield Park / West Humboldt Park area.....

You are better men and women than I.  There is all kinds of red and yellow on the radar so I am taking the train.  I might really wimp out and make my husband drive the four blocks to pick me up so I don't melt or get hit by lightning! :D

My three year old and I got an hour and a half of rain riding in our Babboe cargo bike, with the rain hood on it looks kind of like the royal coronation coach, we both had a great time but I got soaked to the bone.
