The Chainlink

As the title suggest, I thought  we could use this thread as a way to post open invitation training rides. This Sunday, I'm doing a lakefront ride:

Map:    http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5841901

Start: Buckingham Fountain

End: Buckingham Fountain

Start Time: 9am

End Time: 11:30-noon-ish

Pace: I'd like to keep around a 14-18 mph pace

Description:

It's just simply riding the lakefront in it's entirety. It equates to about 36 miles + whatever miles it'll take to get to Buckingham and back (for me 42 total miles). Weather looks like crap for Sunday (chance of rain - 40 degrees) - from my experience training for marathons, I've found crappy conditions only make me stronger.

What does fvp stand for?

I have been called into work, sorry for the late reply.  I am up for this though.  I am planning on doing the fvp on April 20 if any one wants to work towards that goal.

Fox Valley Permanent - a "permanent" is an officially recognized (by RUSA) route of a given distance.

I may or may not be up for the 4/13 fvp. I will be on call during Mid-April to pick up a package of bees for a hive in my community garden. Once the bees come in, I only have 24 hrs to go get them and install them into the hive.

After looking at the calander i think the 13th is going to be my day for the FVP, with a 8 am start ( to work with the first metra train into naperville). Any one up for a 15-16 mph cruise is welcome to join me. Paper work is sent.

Deet - I'll meet you there, though I can't promise I'll have legs to hold 16 mph the whole time. If anything, I'll be able to yo-yo with you between controls.

Cool, looking forward to it.

Training ride #2, Sunday 3/24 :

Map:    http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5857381

Start: Buckingham Fountain (alternatively, you can hop on anywhere along the route we are taking)

End: Buckingham Fountain

Start Time: 9am (I will wait for 10 minutes at the fountain)

End Time: 1pm-ish

Pace:  around a 14-18 mph pace

Description:

Riding an out&back up to Fort Sheridan using the North Channel and Greenbay Trails. It equates to about 61 miles + whatever miles it'll take to get to Buckingham and back (for me 66 total miles). Weather looks not great for Sunday (chance of snow - 37 degrees). Perhaps we can stop up in Highland for brunch... or stop at Pauline's on Ravenswood on the last leg.

I am in, but Sat. (sunny and 39) looks like the better day, would that be possible for you? Nice route.

I'm in. Sunday works for me. But I'll meet up with y'all when you get to Andersonville.

Yeah, I saw that Saturday was going to be a little bit nicer after I had already made plans for that day. So I'm going to keep it at Sunday.

J.A.W. I'll message you my phone number (and you likewise) so that I can text you when we're leaving buckingham. I'm guessing 20-25 min to get up to A-ville, so we'd be there between 9:30-9:40. Meet at Berwyn & Clark?

Saturday I'm already doing a ride to Two Brothers Roundhouse. So Sunday works better for me.
