Just got a diagnosis on my (injured) right-hand (rear) shifter for my road bike.
It seems that there are proprietary washers inside the shifter that are damaged
on mine and need to be replaced. The shifter is a 9-Speed (not the latest and
greatest) and buying a brand new one is not my first choice.
If anyone here has one (on or off a bike) that may contain these washers that are
needed to make it well again ... I would like to hear from you and we can hopefully
work out a good deal.
thanks in advance
Dan
p.s. The model is Ultegra; but I am thinking that 105 or Dura-Ace may work as well.

are you just replacing the shifter? Or are you attempting to just replace washers?
do you have experience rebuilding STI? I've tried a few years ago with some crashed 7700 shifters -- not worth it, next to impossible to get back together correctly. If flushing does not help, they're trashed imho.
i agree with william. buying used a replacement is cheaper than the time it will take you to learn and tinker the broken shifter back into health.
also, there is a guy on ebay that takes broken shifters in trade for refurbished ones.
Just replace the shifter, the rebuild is not worth the effort if you can even do it.
find a NOS one on e-bay or the internet, they are out there.
