that route would work. your destination isn't correct though (you're a couple blocks from the brewery)

I usually just take 41 all the way there... calumet isn't that bad on weekend mornings.

yeah ive never riddin down that direction...41 does seem easier but wasnt real sure about traffic and what not. im definitely riding. i think im bringing my slow roommate and another friend as well.
im 99 percent sure im riding. wanted to go en mass...hence the posting on this forum. The more, the merrier...and safer. My girl will be riding, and she is not the strongest rider as of yet, and ill most likely be on my fixie, so im ok with a moderate speed.

i also ride fixed and a pretty steep gear ratio..what part of town are you leaving from..and what time?
"steep gear" ratio. This means you wanna go at a quick pace right? I'm in!!! Also, am I reading this right, only 18 miles? I don't have the Internet so I'm using my phone. I thought it was further.

logan square. havent really considered time yet. i guess the appropriate word is "early". it'll take..what...3-4 hours to get there? is that a safe estimate?

not so much...it means that im ridin with my slow roommate so my legs are gonna be super wore out...and its 18miles from 71st street...near the end of the lake front path. depending on what way u take to get there. from down town its a bit over 30 miles. im in no hurry to get there so not needing to ride fast and im not gonna leave my roommate in the dust.
i tested him out today with a 20 mile ride on a heavy schwinn varsity...slow. haha. but he hasnt riddin a bike in over 10 years. i have a feeling hes gonna be sore the next couple days....

haha that's gonna suck tomorrow. You think a tandem would be a bad idea for such a long ride? I have the same problem, don't want to leave the wife behind plus its always nice to have someone scratch your back
i dont know...take her out for a long ride on it...evenston and back should be a good benchmark...

all in all, i dont think any of us are taking this as a practice ride for the tour de france. if we take it easy breezy, im sure everyone will be comfortable. maybe recommend some padded shorts for the less seasoned. i think meeting somewhere along the lake path would be a good meeting spot. 8am sounds good, unless we should decide on 7 to accommodate for those who like to make a late appearance or get our gear in order.
sounds great. a decent spot might be near soilder field or somthing....under that lil bridge or somthing. near roosevelt or what ever.

mmmmm padded shorts...haha that made me think of "pillow pants"..from clerks II...the vagina troll. hhaa
