It was just on the 11 o'clock news. The street is still closed, and the body is still under the wheels of the truck.  No tickets have been issued as of now.  Awful!

So sad.  Everyone stay safe out there!

There is a joy of our city becoming filled with more bicyclists, but it has not become bicycle friendly yet. I am filled with sadness...

Deeply saddened by this.  Be careful everyone.

That is ridiculous! The driver who opened that door should be ticketed and arrested!

This is what I'm most fearful of if I (hopefully never) get doored.

On my route and just past the time I'm usually there (didn't ride today). So saddenening, I really feel for the cyclist's family. Really hope some awareness can come about dooring

The driver who opened the door might still be ticketed, although probably not arrested since opening a door into traffic is not a misdemeanor or felony.  It is likely that the major accident investigation unit is on the scene and that the investigation is ongoing.  Traffic tickets are often issued after initial investigation.

How heartbreaking this is; condolences to his family and to the cycling community.

The fact that the last news story update said that the street was closed off and nothing had been moved suggest that the Major Accident Investigation team is thoroughly checking things out before any evidence is destroyed.  Hopefully that will result in appropriate charges.

From the photo it looks like the truck was giving the proper 3 feet of space as well. Nightmare situation for the truck driver.

So heartbreaking, my condolences to the cyclist's family and friends.

So sad.
