The Chainlink

Because There is no "video" tab, I am making this for folks to share Videos. Please share bicycle videos from your latest ride, commute, how to/DIY, or anything Bike related.

I would also like to share my video here on the Chainlink without having to make a new thread every time.

I said "thechainlink.com"...I meant .ORG sorry, not making another video

Only mods/owner can make stickies here.

As for searching -every website search function on every forum stinks.  Most have serious limits to searching because it is an easy exploit for DDoS attacks.

Anyhow, when Google does searching so much better, why bother?

Just use site:thechainlink.org (search term/s no brackets) and google will do all the work for you!  Works on any website.  There is never a need to use an in-site search box when Google does searches so much better.

Cool.  One thing I find hard getting used to about this site is there is no place for 'stickies'.  Plus, unless I'm missing something, it's kind of a bare to search for certain posts or threads with the current search function set-up.

Just upload this one from last winter, need to make some new videos.

Any suggestions on editing software? I use Premiere Elements at work to make videos from a camcorder, but I do not have that at home. I have a vHoldR helmet camera that does a pretty good job outdoors, but I find their EsayEdit software anything but easy. Help.

hey all- I agree the search function on ning is lacking.    I've been asking for a better format from ning for years and have done some initial research to create a custom program.   Not sure if there are options at this point.  Anyone familar with ning and custom search functions, please email me.

I'd love to have a similar search function to google where you can search title, tags, subject, category, etc.

Not to deraille the thread too much more but while ning is improving the search feature I would love to see the calender function improved so one can more easily see at a glance events that are coming up but not just in the next few days. It is sometimes very frustrating digging through events day-by-day into the future -especially since there are sometimes so many events to dig through.

A better search function that performed a calender organizing function would help here too.

But in the end this is a ning thing and pretty much out of anyone's hands but the ning development team.

It you add 'site:www.thechainlink.org' to your google search, it'll just return results from www.thechainlink.org giving you an alternative to the ning search.

You could always use the tags, categories, date, usernames, or whatever as search terms.  It's not perfect but does help.  It's still better than ning's search box.

But as bad as ning's search is it could be worse.  The search function on BikeForums.net is 10x worse and if you try and search again before 30 seconds or accidentally double-click on the search button  it'll lock you out and nag at you.  Ouch, that is a painful search function to use.

here is a slide show I made of some Midnight Marauders rides.  The video is nearly three years old now, so it is a bit dated.  Many diffrent people took the photos used in this video, but the majority of them are mine.
