The Chainlink

Hey Chainlinkers -

I've been asked many times to do another round of jerseys.  Since it's pretty chilly now, I'm looking to offer a round of The Chainlink wool jerseys.

Any recommendations on other quality companies?

I've been recommended Earth Wind and Rider and Portland/Oregon Cyclewear.

Thanks,

Julie

Do they do reprints?

The original jerseys were sold and distributed by a company called Crank The Earth.

The design was a community contest.

They started at $70 each before tax and shipping in Feb '10, and they did a close out at $20 in April '11.

I'd prefer short sleeves.  I'm pretty new around here - how much were the originals (non-wool)?

We used earth wind and rider for our wool jerseys, if you order them now you MIGHT get them in august. They also require a full payment up front while they source the manufacturing from Asian companies. We ordered ours in march of last year and they came in december, oh and the order was messed up (quantity and sizes)

wool chainlink jersey is a great idea!

no strong preference but short sleeved w/ matching warmers would be exceptional :)

I think Tati used Ibex for their team jerseys and shorts.  If you have the opportunity, you should talk to J and see who he used.

I think Rob & I would be interested in purchasing- for winter/cold weather riding we would prefer long sleeves- zip would be nice, too, but short sleeved would be a great option for laying. We missed out on the Chainlink Jersey's from Crank the Earth the first time and regretted it.  As for a manufacturer, I just googled one that looked nice:  http://www.woolistic.com/

Looks like you have to email them to get some quotes.

We can do another run of regular jerseys this spring.  That can be another thread (may already have started one and never followed up).

I'm going to find the best wool jersey company (pref in the US) and will most likely take pre-orders.

Well I would buy one for 20 bucks at closeout, and I prefer long sleeve since it's wool.  No big deal, though, either way.

$20 isn't going to happen unless we had a few sponsors. What do you people think if that? $20 may be near impossible, but sponsors could help subsidize.

I'm not a big fan of sponsorship logos on sportswear-unless they're paying me. I think you'll get adequate interest in nice Chainlink Wool Jerseys in a $70-$90 price range.

I'd have no problem with some local sponsors being on the jersey.  It'd be a major plus if those sponsors were cycling advocacy groups, too.

Ditto.  I'd be willing to pay up to $40 or so for a short-sleeved/sponsored/lighter version.

Haven't priced good jerseys lately, have you? ;-)

Nix on sponsors, anyway... that's my vote if it means anything.
