Since my commuter is not at home I'm going to try out the folding bike.  It's sans fenders though.  Dirty day!

no, but it's pretty. I mean, your bike that is.

42 miles today. Anyone recognize this place?

Getting ready to head into work, going to get to try my studded tires out today on the way home it looks like.  Hope everyone is ready and safe!

I remember that wooden electrical structure on the IPP, that pup has to be very old.The IPP starts just west of the Blue Line stop on the west side of Desplaines Ave....It is at the end of the CTA parking lot.

On the fence about whether to ride today...friends all say no but my inner drill sergeant says yes...hmmm...

No reason not to ride today. It's the city and accumulation is during the day, and slow. The streets will be clean. That is assuming that it will stick, as of 10am, it's not.

I rode, I brought my rain paints and ski goggles. Since it seems like it will be hovering right around freezing, I'm hoping we get snow. If we get freezing rain I'll take the L home. I have studded tires, but don't want the whole commute to be ice :) And am somewhat concerned about cars sliding into me :)

Though, my camera's very presence on my helmet seems to keep them away.

I rode to work this morning with no problem- it was really nice.  Due to the weather reports and possible wind gusts, as well as my wonderful husband Rob being in the area around the time I would leave work, he will be picking me up via car.  I feel a bit wimpy about this since I have ridden in snowstorms before, and if it weren't for the 18-25 mph winds (maybe more) the weather service is predicting, I may have turned down his offer of a ride home. I prefer to err on the side of caution as 8 miles with wind gusts, poor visibility and snow in my face seemed a bit ridiculous since I had an attractive alternative.  For all of you braving it tonight- I hope the weather service is wrong and that I can kick myself for not cycling home - otherwise, please be careful and stay safe tonight.

What Cesar said. It's not "sheet of ice" weather. There will be slush on side streets and dirty wet pavement on main streets.

Haven't been riding since mid December and won't until mid February, due to an ailment.

The last few weeks I felt bad for not riding, but today I'm glad I am unable to ride. Here's to a lot of snow!

Rode in to work with no problem. Streets looked really, really good up here on Touhy until a few minutes ago. Maybe it's coming down harder?

Anyhow, I'm going to ride home on 32C tires LIKE A BOSS.

Snow riding! I am so excited!
