Pooling maps, resources, etc...

My pal Frank and I rode the Pacific coast a couple summers ago and needless to say it was pretty nice. I had a book devoted to riding the coast. It was very detailed and direct. Frank had Adventure Cycling Association maps, which at first I was skeptical about, but once we took one of their scenic deviations, I knew they were really good. Alas, their maps are a bit pricey, not to say they aren't worth it, but it would be pricey for one to purchase a number of them without the expressed need. I don't think bike specific maps are a necessity, especially for short trips, but for a cross country trip it might relieve stress from planning to have the comfort of a well thought out route.
So, what is my point? I suppose since we are a sort of group, maybe anyone with some nice resources like maps, books, personal experience on routes, etc, might list what they have for others to take advantage of. So, for example, if anyone is interested in borrowing my book about touring the pacific coast is welcome to it. I also have a guide to bike trips in Wisconsin, and one about trips in Ireland. These are books I found at thrift stores and picked up. I have also ridden the west coast from Seattle to San Francisco, so if anyone is planning that trip, I can answer any questions. I hope this isn't a silly discussion thread.
I am currently planning a trip from Chicago to San Diego, then possibly up to Alaska if I can find anyone crazy enough to join me. Boat leaves early March if anyone is interested... Anyone done the Southern Tier or TransAmerica? Happy touring friends!
