Depends. I'm fat. I admit that. I've lost a lot of weight though. I understand it is a difficult battle. I don't judge when I see people, but if someone were to ask me I would say it should not be encouraged. It's fine if you're trying to fight it.

 

I have known some people who embrase it and let it become their persona. The "It's my right to be fat" attitude isn't healthy.

Well, I heard a while ago that the overweight test dummy became the regular test dummy.  I'm not surprised at all; whenever I think of the average motorist they come to my mind as being sedate and overweight.  From the company's standpoint, I'm sure they're just trying to corner a customer base.  If you happen to be a large motorist, you'll want to check out Ford for sure because they work to satisfy you.  For them, it's just about making money.

 

This article again demonstrates the silliness intrinsic to automobiles- americans are fat and unhealthy because of cars, (and also because of over processed food, but that's another rant) so now car manufacturers are enlarging the vestibule of their models to give allowance to further driver enlargement.  Ugh.  Accommodating an extraordinarily tall person is one thing, but accommodating being grotesquely overweight? Never.  It's like accommodating heart disease and diabetes as well, not to mention the cost of health care these days.  

 

Another example of how capitalism is sick and sad and is never out for anyone's best interest except those of the investor.  *HORK*

Maybe Ford should be required to give the purchaser a bicycle/helmet/lock along with each "big person" car sale?

Trek has a similar design program to Ford.  Or was that Giant?

I give kudos to anyone out there trying.  God knows I look a mess when I'm out there trying to JOG!!!

My problem with the Ford article is it seems like they're just saying to the masses that it's OK to give up; we'll make your seat no matter how big you get!
