I've given plenty of advice (probably too much) procrastinating on chainlink at work, so now I'm asking for yours chainlinkers:

I just picked up two cheapo junkers on craigslist, and I'm trying to decide what to do with them. The ladies shwinn is basically a frame and fork, but fits my wife (who needs a junker) and the other is a working no name 3speed/coaster internal hub bike that fits me (I've already got a junker, but the price was right).

Do I:
a) swap the parts to the schwinn and get wifey up and riding.

b) use both frames and the mtb i've had sitting around to build a custom tandem http://sheldonbrown.com/tandem-build.html

c) give the 3speed to my dad and take back my trek 930

d) build up the schwinn as a fixie to be ready for the summer and sell the 3speed for what I paid for both to begin with ($10 for the schwinn + $40 for the 3speed)

e) other?????

Have you considered building a side-by-side tandem rather than front-to-back tandem?

Makes for more pleasant conversation with wifey (or less pleasant, depending on her feelings about the term).
Sometimes, being inaudible is good.
Ha, arguing and not able to ride away! What a nightmare. Good thing we get along.

I think they call those pedal cars though, and I hate it when I have to pass one on the LFP. But it's funny to watch them try to pull a U-turn on the banked section just north of Navy Pier. Almost saw one go for a swim once. So yes, I have thought about it; and no, probably not in the cards.

That's a cool side by side. For practicality, the tandem option would be an inline thing, but I'm all for wacky ideas.....maybe stuff like:

or (I think this was on southpark):

It would need some purpose though, not just odd for the sake of odd, but odd for an odd task
If anyone I know could make that third pictured bike out of the parts you have, it's you.
Um, you haven't seen that episode of southpark.

Cool! The generator light might actually work with two people pedaling. To bad he won't take ridiculous offers :(
