Bike thief caught near UIC campus

Just posted to the College of Cycling listserv by a member of the UIC Community:

UIC Police report: On 07 April 2011 @ 1511 hours UICPD responded to a female UIC student following a suspect who was riding her stolen bicycle at approximately 1519 W. Taylor (off-campus).  Responding UICPD unit stopped the suspect in the area of 721 S. Aberdeen.  The victim was brought to the scene of the stop and the suspect was identified as the person riding the identified bicycle.  The male suspect, not affiliated with UIC, was arrested and charged with Theft.  The bicycle was recovered.
