2 Road bikes needed for 4/11 Charity Ride - Rent or borrow

Hello Chainlink community,

I have been trying to ask around Chicago with no luck on a place that rents road bikes? (other than single speed cruiser bikes) The last shop I spoke to recommended that I check out this site, so here I am!

My friend and I are embarking on year 3 of our "Epic Man" event which raises money for multiple organizations and carries a message to inpire and challenge others to challenge themselves to their "Epic Man" - whatever that may mean to them. This year, we are starting in Milwaukee on 4/11 and will end on 4/18 at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Read up on the whole journey here:

What we need are two bikes to use for a ride on the 1st leg of the Epic Man from Milwaukee to Chicago. If anyone is willing to let us borrow their bikes for the day to support the journey or can refer me to a place where we can rent bikes that would be much appreciated! We would be happy to help spread the Chainlink message and help drive some fundraising to this site to support the Chicago bicycling community as well.

If you have a few bikes to lend, we would obviously negotiate some sort of deposit or collateral to ensure that you were confident in letting a few "epic strangers" use your bikes for the day.

If anything, just looking for some solid leads on where to secure a few bikes for the day.

Please reply here or send me an email @ samuelbradbury@gmail.com

Thanks for your time!

Sam,  If you or your friend are under 5 feet I could help you.

How tall are you two?

I'm pretty sure there is some Chainlinker who would let you borrow or rent a bike for a week.

Hey Julie,

Thanks for reaching out. I probably should have mentioned sizes!

I am 5'11 and my friend is about 6'1....so we could use anything 57/58??

I think the Kamineckis might be worth a try-- Chicago/Milwaukee connection.

Contact them though their Earth Rider site:

http://www.earthridercycling.com/

E-mail should still be live.

Unless you're only looking for a rental "company", the size of the bikes you need would be kind of important information to provide.

Try Working Bikes at 2434 S. Western Ave. in Chicago, you need to talk to Raul.
