Thank to The Veloist for this added cycling health benefit.

Cycling makes you poo better!

We're not afraid to 'go there' on ibikelondon; there's no subject too squeamish, no story too scatological to escape our attention.  Choosing an appropriate picture for this particular blog post might be a challenge, but we're not afraid to try...

You heard it here first; cycling makes your poo nicer.  Or rather, riding a bike can help to boost your bowels.  “Physical activity helps decrease the time it takes food to move through the large intestine, limiting the amount of water absorbed back into your body and leaving you with softer stools, which are easier to pass,” explains Harley Street gastroenterologist Dr Ana Raimundo.

In addition, aerobic exercise accelerates your breathing and heart rate, which helps to stimulate the contraction of intestinal muscles. “As well as preventing you from feeling bloated, this helps protect you against bowel cancer,” Dr Raimundo says.

That must also explain the little gift wrap and bows.

Well...I guess I can cancel that doctors appointment I had scheduled for tomorrow.

Mine comes out singing Rogers and Hammerstein numbers!  "The HILLS are alive, with the sound of.....music!"
If you've been biking too much (too much?!  Could this be possible?) and this has become a problem, a note from your friendly biking nurse: eat more fiber...dark rice, whole grain breads, melon, strawberries.  Oh yeah!  Bulk it up baby! ...then get back on that horse, back in the saddle, and ride some more!
Our number two story this morning,
