Trades? Anyone?

Is it that I'm too stupid to find this here on the chainlink, or does it not exist? Is there any interest in having a trade thread here, so that we can trade bikes, parts, other crap? I just got done selling some tires, a pannier and a fork on cl (thanks for bringing me a beer, David, if you're on here), and while the $30 cash burning a hole in my pocket is nice to have, I probably would rather have traded that stuff for something I could use. Cash in my pocket gets spent mostly on bourbon and Topo Chico mineral water. Here are some things I have that I don't need:

- Jannd Standard rear rack

- Pletscher rack (front or rear, but it looks goofy on the front)

- generic silver riser bar, 26.0 clamp (I think)

- Bianchi leopard print saddle that came stock on my San Jose. Someone out there needs a leopard print saddle.

- Shimano Biopace triple crank, black, 170mm arms(pretty sure)

- MKS Sylvan Stream pedals

- couple of mess bags (Timbuk2, Manhattan Portage, Blaq)

there's more, but these are things that come to mind right away.

 

Here are some things I want that I don't have:

- functional long cage rear derailer, old is fine and good

- Silver triple crank, 165 or 170 crank arms

- silver 27.2 mm seatpost

- 15t fixed cog, 16t ss freewheel

This could be a group here where hot trades were posted in the main group page and specific WTT items having their own threads.

It's a good idea. I've got a bunch of stuff I should go through and list myself.

I've also wanted to do this for a long time, but without ending up in Marketplace, which no one ever looks at. Could this be set up as a group? Would that violate any Chainlink protocol? And, Alex, I have a 27.2 alloy seatpost (SR), and a couple of long cage derailleurs--one is a Shimano Alivio and the other a Shimano 200 GS (equivalent of Altus). The 200 GS is in better shape.

I went to the "Add Group" page, but I didn't see a way to designate a category. If the older "Marketplace" area has disappeared, then I suppose this can just be created as a new group. I think it should be a "trade only" group to keep it from becoming a de facto marketplace itself. Bikes, parts, accessories, shoes, jerseys, etc. Other ideas? Maybe a good idea to sort out the protocols before creating the group.
