Thought I would share the eyewear solution that's been working well for me this winter.

I had posted prevously about Kroops goggles, but unfortunately have not been able to solve the fog problem.  I tacked a pair of these onto an order for some ski goggles:

Just to see if they were a viable option for $10, and found them to be -mostly- very good once they arrived. They are extremely clear and thus far have not scratched noticeably (after about 10 weeks of almost daily use). Although the bridge looks pretty minimal, it's reasonably comfortable and zillions of times preferable to my most recent pair of Performance goggles with the rubber bridge cushion that I tried to glue on 30 times but always popped off, exposing a sharp plastic edge.

The "mostly" comes in in that the design creates quasi-blind spots at the peripheries (you can't really see through the frame) which made me pretty uncomfortable, so I joined the ranks of mirror users by picking up one of these at Ciclo:

(pic below too).  Paid $15.  It's been absolutely trouble-free quality-wise, and while I was hesitant to ever try a mirror for fear of becoming dependent on it, having one has very significantly reduced the stress of riding in traffic for me.

So for about $25, I'm pretty happy . . .

I wear ANSI-rated safety glasses from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to sleep.  That's because they are prescription and I'm blind without them.

They work well on the bike too and the nice thing about them is that I always have them on me.   I've worn them since I was 5 years old so the concept of going naked-eyes is quite foreign to me.  I've always wondered how you two-eyes dealt with things like wind on a bicycle even in the summer time.  I see people riding around on bikes without any eye protection and I've been amazed that it isn't so uncomfortable that they go out and get a $10 pair of safety glasses.

Nice review.

i've been getting shades from my father in law for years and love them even tho they make you look like a minor league jerkoff pitcher from alabama. shatterproof and semi wrap around. he gets loads of them free from his union. i've seen them at home depot and menards places like that, they look more like cataract glasses than anything, but give you full coverage

Glad the safety glasses are working for you!

Thanks.

Have tried safety glasses in the past but these are the first that are really great to look through, don't scratch, and are reasonably comfortable at the bridge.

Hard to tell from the pic but one thing you normally have to watch out for with safety eyewear is that it's not designed to be comfortable for longer than it takes to saw a few cuts or grind something.
If you look at the nose/bridge part on those (what's the official term?) there's not a whole lot of support surface.
