I blanked on last night's meeting and can't make tonight's.  Were any bike specific topics discussed?  Any recommendations on candidates?

actually tonight (2/16) DANK Haus had Rahm Emanuel. Was nice to see him up-close. Schulter was there too.

At Wednesday's forum someone asked about bike issues and all 3 in attendance (O'Donnell skipped both final forums) were somewhat vague on the issue. Still, it's on Ameya Pawar's radar (he is aware of ATA and supports participatory budgeting, which could fund bike infrastructure improvements) and he seemed interested in learning about separated bike lanes, etc. Based on last night's performance and review of all candidates' websites, I'm strongly in favor of Ameya. http://www.renewchicago.com/  If you want to know his stance on specific bike issues, I'd suggest emailing him- I sent him a list of questions last week and got a thoughtful answer back quickly. 

 

People at the forum last night reported getting robocalls from O'Donnell's campaign stating that he is the only candidate who actually lives in the ward. I find everything about O'Donnell's campaign- the excessive mailings, his website, skipping debates at the last minute- extremely vague and lacking in urgency w/r/t dealing with the major budget, pension, etc issues facing the city.  Several neighborhood blogs have also taken issue with pieces of his resume- I've listed some info below. I'm fairly new to the city and had zero candidate preference going into this election cycle so I definitely don't have an ax grind with Schulter or O'Donnell--I really think Ameya is most qualified, creative and open to making the process more participatory.
