Bob's very knowledgeable but what a buffoon. He fits very well in the prime time Versus racing coverage which is awful but perfect for American audiences I suppose.

I never miss Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen who I think are two of the best sporting announcers, anywhere.

Phil and Paul's Cycling Cliche Bingo.

Disagree. Bob Roll is one of the most honest, hilarious, and insightful commentators out there. He is also a HUGE supporter of practical bicycling and improving livability. Further, he is the first person in the media to stand up and bring notice to bike-hate, such as the case with Tony Kornheiser last year.

A Bike Radar forum, so brilliant. Not.

Bob Roll insightful? Buffoonish, definitely. Hilarious? We have a different approach to humor. One of the Best commentators out there? Compared to Al Trautwig, YES! Compared to any talking head sap on the Big Ten Network? Bobke's got some work to do.

Glad you like him; like I said, he fits right in with the American audience and VERSUS prime time, which is why I don't watch VS cept during the races and never in prime time.

You can keep the Big Ten saps and "the heads of state dancing on the pedals!", I'll stick with Bobke. He's also done a lot of writing over the years, and it is indeed very insightful. Plus, by shining the light on Tony last March, I know he's got my back.
