Also, it's now tentatively scheduled for 2012, not 2011, from an original 2010 date. Given the increased focus on TIF projects and the dire financial straits the city finds itself in, I wouldn't be surprised if it does get delayed even more.

I would love for them to do this to Chicago Ave. In fact, a lot of streets could use this. Let's hope it keeps getting good press and actually happens up on Lawrence. Maybe it will spread.

A lot of these projects happen at the Aldermanic level. Active Trans encouraged members to show up to public meetings in support of the Lawrence project but it's also very helpful to have Aldermen back the projects.

 

It's great that CDOT is also pushing/encouraging these too.

 

The Humboldt Boulevard traffic calming/road diet project is still moving forward and public meetings should be happening soon.

 

If anyone is interested in moving a project like this forward and reaching out to Alderman, please let us know so we can offer support wherever possible.

If this actually happens, it would make getting to the On The Route bike shop much easier.
