28 miles, anyone know why the city stopped plowing the lake front trail south of North ave?

Depends on which stretch you're referring to.  The part between oak st. and ohio is on a grade and is apparently too  slippery for the plows to get through.

It was nuts - i musta seen 12 bikes out in my ride down damen. ;-) Yay!

Out here in the Boones my early 630am ride is mostly quiet, definitely not as cold as before Xmas.  Nice yesterday with all the frosted trees and my hair.  But at nite when i ride home, people are rude, they give you strange looks and as always say your Crazy.  I saw lots of runners out on Wednesday, do they get this attitude? But all and all just love the ride.
None of my bikes are fender friendly. Gah
GREAT ride in!  40 degrees. Streets/bike lanes clear (need fenders though). Layered down for the day and loved it.

Both-jacket-open weather today, and as a bonus traffic's still light because of school break.

Would have sucked without fenders though.

Woo! It's a long underwear free day? Yeah!

Pavement is all torn up on the LFP from North ave to Oak.

Slippery, eh?  Did a semi full of sleepwear crash or something?

"And there are footie pajamas all over the freeway!"

Just got back from a nine mile pleasure ride. Since the roads were clear, I switched back to my road bike from my hybrid. Wow! It has only been a month of riding the hybrid, but my road bike seemed a little uncomfortable. How easy you can lose it. Still, had a great ride. Probaly back to the hybrid and snow tires Monday morning.

Mark--I was wondering the same thing about the difference between upright and road bike frames. I tried riding my road bike awhile ago and it was horribly uncomfortable. I never feel uncomfortable on that bike. I'm not sure I'm looking forward the switching back to it after winter. I may have to install the fenders sooner than I expected.
