Shoes...those things that go over my feet

I rode yesterday and today. 
Looking for shoes that would work for the last two days. What are your recommendations for wet weather and cold windy weather shoes? Something to use all winter. I like to use my pedal straps, no clip ins.

What should I get? I don't mind spending the money for something I plan on using every week, all winter.

If you're using platform pedals, why not just a pair of boots?

I have a great pair of boots, but they don't fit my straps. I thought about geting bigger straps but that would require new pedals. Plus things start to get bulky if I'm wearing boots. I wear a pair of converse that are just so perfect and slim, but do nothing for water and cold.

There are a lot of options out there in Gore-Tex lined shoes. I have one pair of Rockport oxfords and a Timberland 3/4 boot, both waterproof. Wore the Rockports yesterday and my feet remained dry though I struggled to keep my umbrella from collapsing on the ride home. I don't use clips or straps on my commuter, but would expect either of these could/would be made to fit in straps. I don't have a lengthy commute either (15-20 minutes), so warmth is very rarely an issue for me.

I have shoes covers that repel most water and help keep feet warmer. Got from REI for around $45.

There are Goretex socks if you're able to leave a pair of shoes at work to change into.

Thanks everyone. I love the shoe covers at REI. Ideally I'd like to not spend all night drying my shoes out when its wet.

i donno what they are called but they create a pocket for the front of your feet on the peddles. That mixed with some nice wool socks :-)
I myself wear Dr. Martins all year long or go bare foot and neither have never failed me.

Try regular leather shoes and Nikwax or Snow Seal wax-based waterproofing, melted into the leather with a hair dryer. Darkens the color, wrecks nubuck and suede, but makes smooth leather completely waterproof.

I am having the same problem. I wear converse and wool socks. It's not working at all. I never care when it's warm out. Besides being kinda gross, wet feet aren't too troubling during summer.

I don't have clips and straps on my mountain bike and believe I'll just keep it that way and wear a waterproof boot. Would you think about taking off the straps? Until my boot slides off the platform pedal causing me to fall, I think I'm going strapless.

Hi You might try Neos over shoes. Don't know if they will fit in you straps but they are water proof over shoes that come up a bit over your feet. My kids use them. we have one grown up pair and it gets used too. Keeps shoes and socks dry.
