Confrontation with car turning right on red @ 18th/Clark

So I was going to work today riding east on 18th... when I stopped at the red light at the Clark intersection when all the sudden the car behind me starting honking his horn and yelling that I'm in the way... he wanted to make a right at the red light....

This really pissed me off it’s a narrow passage not enough room for a bike and car… So I started yelling back to hold your f*** horses and wait for the green as I was going straight and when he wouldn’t lay off the horn I spit on his windshield… yeah not the smartest thing to do but I was upset…

was I wrong for getting upset?

NO! Was it a good one?

Just remember where your u-lock is if you have to escalate in force. He has a car and is already in a threatening posture. You already told him to chill out.
Was there even a right on red allowed there?
I hate confrontation, but we have to stand up for our rights to the road.
It is really important to evaluate the situation during the moment, and it sounds like you were.

When I go out on my scooter I feel like a target. When I am out on my bike I feel much safer even though the bike lane is really the parked car door lane.
In situations like that I usually flip them the bird. You weren't wrong, he wouldn't do that to anyone else driving a precious car.

Actually you don't really know that. You don't really know anything about the person behind the wheel. They could be a pacifist, or a lunatic.

Try to save on using the bird, I (for one) don't want to read about you being murdered due to little provocation. Please?
