Saw a dude with CDs in his spokes, and I thought, what an awesome idea for custom spoke cards!

I like the reflectivity of the mirrored faces, and you can just make waterproof labels, and slap them onto old discs. (no shortage of those around!)

They might fall out a little too easy, but so do the laminated things from Kinkos.

I've got a bag of about 40 old CD-Rs. Anyone organizing a ride soon is welcome to them!

I saw a dude last weekend with an old floppy disk (yes : the 5.25" one that actually *is* floppy).
pretty retro.

I am thinking gold CDs would be good for me. anyone wanna trade (they were Kodak IIRC) ?
I think that was on Doug's bike! haha

He was the first one to get his bike cleaned by me.
I'm pretty sure that as Doug as well. He used to have a steel pie plate in his spokes, but he said it flew out one day while he was riding.
You've seen it before last week; I've had one in the spokes of all my bikes for a while. I have also shoved old pie plates, CDs and Cheetos bags into my spokes; is it any wonder I have problems with my wheels staying true?

Notorious,

Your name caught my eye. I'm curious about it pronunciation:
Notorious "Doug"
or
Notorious "DEE YOU GEE" (inspired by Notorious B I G) ?????

Doesn't this stress the spokes? As a fat man who bikes every where I am mega concerned about wear on spokes.

the spoke cards aren't a big deal but CDs being thicker and more rigid seem like they'd be bad for the wheels.
Either, I'm not picky.
