Yeah, right up the road 160 miles. I'd like to go if it were really right up the road, but I have no time off work.

You can cut it down to 80 if you take Metra to Harvard, though that's still a lot of riding.

ya, this might be a car trip, maybe we rent a van, maybe we pool the resources we have.

van pool sounds great... can we get a yellow school bus and a big rack on the back for all our bikes?

ah.. how i LOVE New Glaurus! What a great idea! We live in a pretty big city I am sure you could find anything you want, buses, van etc... though a big hippy bus would be awesome.

I just sent this ad to the owners of the Team Bad Monkey bus. I know they rent it out locally around Des Moines and Indianola but who in the hell knows what they might do, especially as it involves biking and beer drinking, two of their favorite things. You can see some photos of the Bad Monkey bus in my photos.

If this trip happens, I can do it if it's Friday after 5 - through Sunday night. An Oktoberfest in an old world Swiss town?! I just might have to wear my drindl dress!

Awesome idea to check Craigslist and Team Bad Monkey.

I would also suggest posting in the ragbrai.com forums there are lots of teams. I don't know what teams do with their buses the other 51 weeks a year.
