Active Trans is seeking donated computers to support our growing advocacy work. We will do a hard reformat of the drives, which will permanently erase all stored data and information.

Ideal Specifications: Windows XP Desktop PC

Processor speed: 2.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz

RAM: minimum of 1024 MB

Hard disk: minimum of 40 GB

Optical disk drive: CD-ROM

We are also looking for flat screen monitors, mice,
keyboards, RAM, and external hard drives.

If you have equipment you’d like to donate and are unsure of its use to Active Trans, feel free to email Brett@ActiveTrans.org.

Any leads would be appreciated!

I have a flat screen monitor for donation. I am not sure if my old PC meets your requirements but you are free to have that as well. Email if you are interested.
Hey, thanks to everyone who has emailed me about donations. We appreciate it!

You might want to check out freegeekchicago.org. They are a computer recycling non-profit located at Milwaukee, Kimball, and Diversy. They have a build to earn program in which people learn how to refurbish machines to earn a free one. They also sell computers running Linux for super cheap. You could kind of compare it to working bikes with computers.
The company I work for (a non-profit as well) may have a computer or two to donate along with some related odds and ends. Due to our Federal grant, we need to donate it to another 501c3 like Active Trans. I will clear things with the National Director and let you know as soon as I can what we have to donate.
