The Craig's List Ad section revisited...classic...clever.....outlandish....Elgin guy....tiring and so forth.

This one caught my eye, and yes Howard, I think this merits re-discussing.

And since it will probably be flagged soon, here is the text:

There is ONLY ONE way to SETTLE THIS!

All "RE" posts can now sign up for CRAIGSLIST DEATH MATCH. Each week I will be hosting a fight to the death, no holds barred, grudge match--- pitching bitching opponents against each other to settle their disputes the good old fashioned way-in public-in person.

Bring your spell check, bring your sense of hipster entitlement, bring your tight jeans and disapproving stare, bring your seat posts as weapons! Most of all, BRING IT ON!!!

No longer do you have to fight for clever ironic virtual dominance! If you don't like his price-BASH HIM ONE! If you think he's selling imperfect wheelsets-STEAMROLL HIM! It's down and dirty weasel vs. wussy!

Craigslisters submit your favourite annoying Re-posting whiners by Thursday of each week, and on Friday night we can ride our bikes to a selected location to cheer on your selected cheerless rivals.

Two will enter, one will leave.

Here's one that I am sure everyone will be tempted by...the quality brand, the detailed description, the fine selection of photos.......hmmmm......

So what do you think....$2,000? no wait.....$3,0000? Geez....I don't want this one to get away!

Here's the link first:

So I gotta ask, what makes you think he reduced the price from 400 down to fifty?
I'd hop on that hooker for sure..

Here is a 1962 Schwinn Frame, I cut the back fender off It might look ugly but it rides well comes with like 4 tiress I put like over 100 fun miles on it. Worth more than a Hundred by very far looks like an S with "27" Inch Long Ape Hanger Handle Bars on it and 2 Bannana seats. Also come with 2 1963 Schwin white rims, Rides well with 2 spiked pedals and 2 Chrome exhaust pipes on the back. Handle Bars are lose but an easy adjustment will have them locked in place I like riding them lose so that they move. Coaster brakes too. Was asking 150 before.

Oh yeah, he had it at $400 for a week or so, posting every few days, I remember that.

It was a Gandy pedal Partner holding together those two Huffys, if it was the same one as I saw him selling at a bike-swap in Rosemont a couple of years back. It was around $150, IIRC, and I was tempted, too!

You can still get the kits ... http://www.gandy.net/pedal/index.php3

No way bro, that skull bike rocks! Not 400 rocks, but id hit it given the chance. That guy in Gilberts has had some pretty nice bikes in the past, but most are way way way to expensive to even consider for what they are. He did have a nice price on a Huffy side by side bike that I totally would have bought if I had the money at the time. I think he only wanted 150 for it.
Yikes! S/he can keep the head!

Oh Gaaaaaaaahhhhhhd....just as soon as I start cruising the Craig's List bike section again, the hilarity strikes me again. For example this one:

and then this guy, whom you have to hope is not "trying fixie" anywhere near you.

Aerodynamic lever design. Super SLR (Shimano Linear Response). Compatible with all dual pivot brakes

Minor scratches on the left, i also have a set of Cane Creek Crosstop levers so can have middle handlebar braking as well for a extra 20 bucks

I am trying Fixie now

I sure do love Craig's List.
Wait, is he "trying fixie" with one of those lawn mower engines? Sheesh, I hope not anywhere near where I ride. Had enough trouble with a mini-bike in the bike lane the other day. I think a brakeless motorized "fixie" sounds like all kinds of fun.
