The Chainlink

Sick minds make for awfully silly activities....liar's tour for example

I really don’t understand how there can be nothing to celebrate April Fool’s Day, or All Fools' Day.  Looking at the ride calendar, it is a vast empty wasteland.

Was.

This really needs to be heralded as the holiday of our times.  If there was ever a more absurd time to be alive, it was probably the 80s, but I digress.  Times are tough.  The city is divided.  The country is divided.  The world is divided.  Cyclists are divided.  Times are indeed, tough.

And in a time so ironic, we don’t exalt the wonder of All Fools' Day?  Absurd!

Enough of that I say.  Enough!

We will celebrate.

We will ride, and celebrate.

We will ride, and stop, and drink and celebrate.

We will see the birth place of Moses, the largest building in the universe, the smallest building in the northern hemisphere, the actual launch pad for every space launch since Cape Canaveral closed their launch site in 1974, (you won’t get anyone at the government to confirm this and of course anyone that tells you that they are from there, or have been there were actually programmed in a secret government facility, WHICH WE WILL ALSO SHOW YOU) the spot where the West Side Critical Mass lost its soul, the location of Al Capone’s actual secret vault that Geraldo Rivera meant to open, and I don’t actually have a key for it, so, if you have, you know, some skills….that could be useful in these circumstances……uh,….contact me off list, PLUS the best place to drink after learning about the REAL HISTORY OF CHICAGO.

Will you join us?

Say yes on your reservation even if you aren’t coming.  Think about it.

Happy All Fools' Day.

sorry for all of the capital letters in this posting.  that was bad.  i will never use them again.

Haven't you already done that yourself, or are you trying to fool all of us with your screenname? :)

Cheers - Lee
Saving the date.
I will deffinatly attend of course and I'm not being sarcastic at all not the slightest bit. This is very on point; let's revel in the abstract process of it all, infinate purpose constructed in a slurry of nonsensical chaos, worth cellabrating...Agin let Me reiterate how unnecessary spelling is and I could never attend such an event You will definately see Me there...
T-minus 1 day....get ready to celebrate....to lie.....to be lied to.....and please warn your liver.

Here's the route.....maybe.

I have been on several of Lee's rides, and I always find them to be informative, well-researched and fun. It's about time he did something completely different. Hey, Lee, can we go to the site where Jack Kerouak was murdered by Andy Warhol and the Armenian mafia? How about riding through the Chicago wards where, for the past hundred years, the Aldermen have been democratically elected, free of graft, the cops were never on the take, and the building and zoning laws were strictly upheld?
Ian,

What are you peaking at my notes!?

Damn!
Tonight's the night we'll make history, honey, you and I. And I'll take any risk to tie back the hands of time, and stay with you here tonight. I know you feel these are the worst of times, I do believe it's true.
When people lock their doors and hide inside, rumor has it it's the end of Paradise, but I know, if the world just passed us by, baby I know, you wouldn't have to cry.

The best of times are when I'm alone with you. Some rain some shine, we'll make this a world for two.
Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime. We'll take the best, forget the rest, and someday we'll find these are the best of times. These are the best of times

Thank you Dennis DeYoung for expressing the true spirit of the day. Happy All Fool's Day and I hope to see some of you out there this evening....7:00.....at West Town Bikes.

Liar's all of is.
