The Chainlink

i've been looking @ potentially renting a bike overnight for a certain night-time group ride that takes place in june...i've looked online @ several places that rent by the hour/daily, but i wanted to ask for any suggestions of reputable rental locations, as i will be traveling quite a distance to come into chicago specifically for this bike ride, and the thought of a 'lost reservation' or getting stuck with a bike that's not fitted properly (comfort is crucial for this event) would be pretty devastating.

of course, there's always the option of traveling via. train with one of my own bikes, but i've heard rumors of a certain female amtrak operator who likes to make this option exceedingly difficult...

any recommendations/tips regarding either rentals or bringing a bike on-board a train would be greatly appreciated!!!

Always enterprising Marty.
i appreciate the offer -> at this point, i'm leaning towards renting something that falls into the cruiser/hybrid category, as based on my experience with this particular ride last summer, it's a slow-moving ride, where comfort and sitting up-right throughout the majority of the event are paramount to an enjoyable ride. in the interest of full disclosure, this is regarding the WNBR; therefore, i'll only need the ride for that saturday night, but it's essential that everything is tuned-up and ready for several miles of worry-free cruisin'...i'd hate to be the poor soul this summer who ends up with a broken chain or flat tire mid-ride, flippin' and floppin' while jogging alongside the bike...oh, and i promise to provide my own seat cover. :)
