Cell Phone Ban Enforced by Bike Patrol

I love it! I hope they keep it up. I see so many people breaking this law regularly and have even asked local law enforcement about it and they have to see someone violating the law to take action. This is a simple way to raise awareness and ticket offenders and hopefully it will reduce offenses and accidents. A car is dangerous enough without the driver being distracted by his or her cell phone. Thanks for posting.

Good to see. The law was a good one and its made even better when actually enforced.
Nothing beats a bicycle getting respect from a cab ;-) Huzzah!

I'm assuming that cab is parked, and it's the light brown sedan getting ticketed. Right?

Keep what up? The fact that OP witnessed a cop writing a ticket for driving while using a cell-phone should not lead to the conclusion that CPD has stepped up writing tickets for this equipment offense, or that it is appropriately enforced.

On the other hand, the change of getting a ticket driving while on a cell phone is probably equal to the change of getting a ticket for riding through a red light, so who are we to complain?

actually just the one... they were all riding together and the other two came back when they realized their partner had stopped.
