This is a great ride for cyclists new to touring as well as for long distance veterans who are looking for comraderie.
sounds fun !
Oh, if only I wasn't out of town for a wedding that weekend!
We'll also be unveiling an Amtrak-assisted itinerary at the meeting requiring only about 55 miles of pedalling in total, which will allow us to bring our 3 year old son on the trip!
At last night's planning meeting, attended by 12, the Alpha-Team Itinerary has been revised to have us overnight at Growing Home-- an awesome, organic farm in Marseilles, IL, that offers job training programs.

The change also eliminates cycling the least interesting portion of the distance, Chicago to Joliet.

Details on the Beta-Team route will be forthcoming shortly.
