To put it simply, I ride because of my mom and my love for biking. Recently, mom my passed away from Lymphoma, a type of cancer. To remember her, I am teaming up with four of my friends to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are doing this by biking from one coast of the U.S. to the other, four thousand miles. To begin, we want to raise 10,000 dollars! This society kept my family financially alive during my mom's year from her diagnosis to her death. They also were un an believable emotional help. My mom was also a crucial part of the Chicagoland community. She worked at the high school in Blue Island, just south of Chicago, for several years before her death. She raised me and four brothers and sisters in this community. She loved it. I love it. I am a Chicagoan through and through. It is time I give back to this community my mother loved by giving back to the legacy my mother left.
