Showers Pass Showers Pass makes thoughtfully-designed, high-performing rain gear for cycling so I was excited when they offered to send us a couple of jackets to test. The weather has cooperated nicely, as I’ve been able to use it in rainy and windy conditions with much success. As its name implies, the “Crossover” is truly a multi-purpose jacket. In addition to wet weather pedaling, I’ve paired it with an insulating base-layer or two for dry-but-chilly rides. I found that I had no problem staying warm, and when fully zipped up, cold wind never found its way through. Another nice feature is that the jacket has a dropped tail, allowing for better coverage on a bike when it’s raining. And if you are looking for a jacket that does double-duty, this is equally comfortable for hiking, camping, and general around-town wear (It's become my go-to jacket for walking the dogs, so I can vouch for its versatility). The jacket has zipped pockets on the sides and a hood meant to fit under the helmet. The Crossover comes in two colors (fuchsia and olive) and while I normally love wearing black, it makes sense to have this jacket in a more visible color with the reflective tape visible from all sides. If you get warm, there are also “pit zippers” to prevent you from overheating. Purchase Information: |
