Bike Commuting After A Heavy Snowfall - Photos #6-7

Photo #6: Here’s my bike on the Metra to Arlington Heights. One thing I actually like about the winter (in contrast to summer) is that I never have a problem getting my bike on the train. Typically, my bike is leaned up against a Trek 520 belonging to a guy that works for Gatorade. I’m not sure where he was that day.

Photo #7: This is a random residential street in Arlington Heights around 8:20am. I took a detour from my normal route in an unsuccessful attempt to find a residential street that wasn’t yet plowed. All local streets I encountered were plowed right to the edge, giving me plenty of space to stay out of the way of cars. Oddly enough, the only road I encountered that wasn’t adequately plowed was Route 12, a very busy state highway. It was weird turning off a fully plowed residential street onto an unplowed highway.
