If it happens, it happens.
When there is snowfall of two inches or or more, come to the Corner Bar at 7:00pm. You can warm your winter biking gear on the radiator. Departure is by 8pm; bring lights. Hand and toe warmers will be available. On extra good evenings, the ride may be followed by sledding in Humboldt Park.
Hooray for snow and bikes!

Iggi are you going?
Michael?
John?
I've been waiting for a break in the snow, but afraid that might not be until Thursday.
I second michaels questions. Who is going?
John are you even going?
2 things historic conspire to prevent me from riding tonight: this awesome blizzard. BTW, the Chicago Tribune has set up a website to help Chicago residents ask their neighbors for assistance, and help neighbors in need tonight as a result of the blizzard. It maps requests/offers for help and is similar to systems used successfully in New York and DC this winter. The website is here. Or read about it on the Humboldt Portal here.
The other historic event is the political end of Egypt as well know it in the next few hours. Some of you know that I worked in Cairo in the mid-90s. Good coverage here. To witt:
The BBC's Kim Ghattas in Washington says: "I just spoke to a senior US official, who confirmed that Frank Wisner met President Mubarak and told him he should not seek re-election or put forward his son, Gamal, as his successor. The Americans are now waiting for an answer. However, the official also said that even if Mr Mubarak did not seek re-election, it was no longer enough. My understanding is that although they have not gone back to Mr Mubarak to say he must stand down immediately, they are hoping he has figured that out on his own.
